Centennial and Landmark Conference Football Officials Keynote Speaker
The Centennial and Landmark Conferences Football Officials Clinic is thrilled to announce that our 2025 Keynote Speaker will be John Troxell - Head Football Coach - Lafayette College
John Troxell
-
John Troxell ’94 just completed his third season season as the Fred M. Kirby II '42 Head Football Coach at Lafayette College
-
He was re-introduced to the College Hill community at a press conference on Dec. 14, 2021. He is the 29th coach in the program’s history, third who is an alum, and took over prior to the 2022 season.
-
John began re-shaping the program in 2022, guiding the Leopards to a third-place finish in the conference standings, despite an offense that was significantly affected by injuries.
-
In just his second campaign on College Hill:
-
Guided the Leopards to a Patriot League championship for the first time in a decade.
-
Compiled a 9-3 record that surpassed the single-season win total from the previous 40 years.
-
Lafayette jumped back into the top 25 polls for the first time since 2009, climbing as high as No. 16 in the rankings and finished at No. 19 in the AFCA Poll and 21st in the Stats Perform poll.
-
-
Troxell came to College Hill after a 16-year head coaching stint at Franklin and Marshall College where he molded the program into a consistent winner. Prior to his arrival at the Lancaster, Pa. school in 2006, F&M had managed one winning season in the previous 13 campaigns. Four years later, after a full recruiting cycle, the Diplomats finished with a 9-2 record and continued to climb, subsequently reaching the postseason on nine occasions.
-
Twice named the Centennial Conference Coach of the Year winning most recently in 2017 and in 2009 when he was also a finalist for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year national award. The program’s high-water mark came in 2017 when the team was 10-1 and captured its conference championship. That season kicked off a span from 2017-21 when Troxell and Franklin and Marshall posted a cumulative mark of 31-13. In his 16 seasons, Troxell posted a 92-67 overall record, ranking second in career coaching wins at the school where he coached 111 all-conference selections.
-
While at F & M, he developed a mentoring and internship program utilizing the alumni network and played an integral role in mobilizing the group behind the construction of a $19.6 million football stadium project.
-
Prior to his coaching career at F &M, he served in various roles at Lafayette College as the running backs coach, recruiting coordinator and special teams coach from 2001-05. His selection as the recruiting coordinator in 2003 helped kick off a stretch of three straight titles for the Leopards in 2004, 2005 and 2006 that coincided with the program’s first three NCAA FCS Playoff appearances.
-
Troxell joined the Muhlenberg staff after serving as an assistant coach for three seasons (1994-96) at Columbia University under head coach Ray Tellier, beginning his career path of coaching at elite academic institutions. In 1996,
-
Prior to Lafayette, Troxell was part of a dramatic reversal at Muhlenberg College from 1997-2000 under head coach Mike Donnelly. He served multiple roles, working as the special teams coordinator (1997-99), quarterbacks coach and wide receivers coach (1997-2000) and offensive coordinator (2000). Muhlenberg progressed from a 1-9 season in 1997 to the Eastern College Athletic Conference title with a record of 9-2 in 2000. In 2000, under Troxell’s tutelage, the offense ranked 22nd in the nation and led the Centennial Conference in total offense (427.8 ypg) while averaging 31.0 points per game.
-
His first extended stint on College Hill came as a student-athlete from 1990-94, when he earned his bachelor’s degree in government and law. Troxell was the starting free safety on the Leopards’ 1992 Patriot League Championship team and received the Unsung Hero Award as a senior. He completed his master’s degree in sociology and education in 1997 while on staff at Columbia.
-
He resides in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. He and his wife, Pamela, have two daughters, Summer and Capri.

Ms. Katie Boldvich
-
Katie Boldvich is a vocal and unwavering supporter of NCAA Division III athletics. As the Commissioner of the Landmark Conference, she brings a wealth of experience as a two-sport Division III student-athlete, coach, and administrator.
Under her guidance, the Landmark Conference has achieved significant milestones through collaborative efforts. A standout achievement was the expansion of the conference's membership to 10 institutions with the additions of Lycoming College and Wilkes University. This deliberate expansion was the result of robust collaboration with the President's Council and Athletic Directors from member institutions, underscoring a shared commitment to growth.
Boldvich also spearheaded the introduction of football as a conference-sponsored sport. This decision marked the first expansion of sport offerings for the conference since 2018, demonstrating the league’s dedication to expanding athletic opportunities within the Landmark.
A trailblazer in Division III athletics, the Landmark Conference established the first conference-wide multimedia partnership within the Division as they partnered with FloSports beginning with the 2023-24 academic year. This historic agreement, valued in the seven figures, brings a new level of support by providing direct funding and enhancements to all 10 member institutions while also providing an enhanced viewing experience for fans.
Boldvich's leadership has been especially evident during challenging times, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. She guided the conference through the complexities of the crisis, allocating resources strategically and introducing innovative solutions. Impressively, the Landmark Conference was one of the earliest in Division III to resume play in the winter of 2021.
Boldvich's influence extends beyond the Landmark Conference to the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC), where she has made a significant impact on the ice hockey community. Boldvich has worked with the member institutions of the NEHC since the 2013-14 season. The league has seen strategic membership growth and unparalleled success over the last 10+ years.
She has contributed to both the NCAA Division III Women’s and Men’s Ice Hockey National Committees, chairing the Women's Committee in 2017 and 2018, and serving as Chair for the Men's Committee in 2023 and 2024. Her service marks a historic achievement as the first individual to serve on and chair both committees. In her role as chair, she was also a key advocate for the adoption of the Pairwise selection model beginning with the 2018-19 ice hockey season. The formula is a similar model to the selection process in Division I ice hockey and has helped provide greater transparency to selections into the national tournament. Pairwise is now a permanent fixture in the Division III ice hockey space.
For the past decade, Boldvich's dedicated service to the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) has been instrumental in shaping men’s collegiate rowing. As the Executive Director of the IRA, she plays a crucial role in planning and executing the National Championship, a historic event with roots tracing back to 1895. Her commitment and leadership ensure the ongoing success of this prestigious event, bridging tradition with innovation to create a championship experience that resonates with athletes, spectators, and the rowing community.
Before embarking on her career in collegiate athletics, she developed a diverse background in sports television, collaborating with notable clients such as the Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, UEFA Champions League, US Ski and Snowboard Association, World Surf Tour, and more. She's had the opportunity to contribute to the coverage of exciting sports moments that have captured audiences globally. Through this experience, she's gained a strong understanding of how sports, storytelling, and visuals come together, allowing her to create engaging narratives that truly reflect the essence of each moment.
Graduating magna cum laude from Emerson College, Boldvich's collegiate journey was marked by her involvement as a two-sport student-athlete in soccer and softball. As a four-year starter and captain in both sports, she left an indelible mark on the Lions' athletics programs. Her collegiate athletic career was highlighted by the 2007 NCAA postseason tournament run by the softball program. This served as the first NCAA postseason appearance by any athletics program at Emerson. The Lions went on to win two contests in regional play, also marking the first NCAA postseason wins in the history of the college.
Boldvich's diverse career, from roles in sports-television programming to senior leadership positions in collegiate athletics, showcases versatility, strategic acumen, and dedication to enriching experiences for student-athletes. As the commissioner of the Landmark Conference and other esteemed leagues, she not only upholds their missions and values but also drives growth, innovation, and resilience.

Jerry Magallanes
I have been extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to play football from ages 6 – 22. In that period, I played in the Pop Warner league, at Father Judge High School in Philadelphia, and in the NCAA - Division 3 at Hofstra University. In that time, the game taught me the values of teamwork, leadership, and overcoming adversity. In 1989, I began officiating football. Like many of my colleagues, my playing days were key factors in preparing to be an official.
My officiating career took the same path as my playing years. I officiated in Pop Warner and high school until 1997 when I joined the college ranks in the ECFOA. In 2002 – 04, I began officiating in the Atlantic 10 and CIP Conferences. In 2005 my dream of becoming a FBS official became a reality, and it still exists today. In the last 19 seasons, I’ve had the opportunity to work the ACC Championship 2 times, 12 bowl games and as the alternate official in the 2023 College Football Playoff Championship Game in Los Angeles, CA. More important than the games listed above are the relationships I have formed over my 35 years of being an official. I am truly fortunate to call many of them my friends.
My wife Jennifer and I have been together 34 years, have two daughters, Stephanie (34) and Olivia (27) and a son RJ (25). I am a Field Operations Specialist for Image One Industries located in Bensalem, PA.
